The Mouskos Foundation was founded by John Michael Mouskos in 2014 to support inspirational and visionary initiatives. In its everyday activities the Foundation develops and implements exciting ideas that make a significant contribution to the lives of young people and communities in the areas of culture, education and welfare.

The stepping-stones of the Foundation were laid in 2004 with the creation of the Breathing Life Trust, a UK registered charity which established the Breathing Life Lung Centre for Children in Nicosia, Cyprus (which now treats 6000 children a year) and The Art for Life Prize - an international poetry and art competition for young people.

The Mouskos Foundation is currently developing ideas for a new international Bicommunal Museum of Contemporary Art in Nicosia, Cyprus.

The Mouskos Foundation has several alliances with academic, health institutions and Government agencies, including: The Ministry of Health and Education of the Republic of Cyprus, Great Ormond Street Hospital, The Fitzwilliam College at Cambridge University, The UK-Cyprus Enterprise Council, The American Alpine Club, The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics, The Greek Mountaineering Federation and The Municipality of Nicosia.
